tindy illougan : celebration
of men, it’s the occasion for men to
ride their camels and go around women.

ahal : celebration organized
by young touaregs, kind of a party.
The maraboutic celebrations: “ziara”
or pilgrimage very often in tribute
to a local saint character (called wali)
in the whole region of tidikelt.
• M’hadra
dance : a dance with
guns known as “baroud”
• Issara
: men dancing, turning and singing.
Each big event in quite different from
city. When celebrating a Muslim occasion
(birth, marriage, holiday, departure
and comeback from pilgrimage), relatives
are invited for a big eatery. |
